Dragging and dropping files into Konsole from Dolphin Peculiarity

I am running Tumbleweed 64bit with KDE and I have solved a problem I was having dragging and dropping files and folders into Konsole from Dolphin. I had been dragging and dropping files into Konsole from the top area of Konsole and as a result nothing would drop into it but I got a little red circle with a bar through it at the mouse pointer. Since I have Dolphin in the upper right corner of my desktop and Konsole in the bottom right corner I naturally dragged the files into Konsole from the top area of Konsole since it is the shortest distance. You have to drag files from the side of Konsole for it to work. I do not know if this behavior is specific to Tumbleweed or to particular versions of Dolphin or Konsole or for some other reason.

I just thought I would share this to save someone some trouble.

It never occurred to me to drag a file into Konsole. What kinds of files? What happens once dropped?

Dragging and dropping files/folders into Konsole is a convenient way to delete files or folders, ie, rm -R to delete a folder or rm for a file. It can also be used to change permissions or ownership of a file or folder, ie, chmod -R 777. Just type the command in Konsole first, hit the space bar, then drag and drop the file and hit enter. Another command is Ls -l and there are many more.

When a file is dropped, a drop down menu will appear asking if you want to copy, link, paste location, or change directory to. This drop down menu can be disabled or enabled by editing the bash profile.

Interesting. I've been using Konsole somewhere around 16 years without ever trying such things.

When I have Konsole open, one or more tabs is usually running mc. With mc, ls -l is in effect automatic most of the time. INS/DEL flags multiple files to delete or copy using function keys. Otherwise, the edit/delete/copy function keys operate on the highlighted file or directory. File edit is F4. Changing permissions, creating symlinks, searching and more is mere keystrokes in the F9 menu. There's no need for any other file manager to drag from. Except for mouse, mc works exactly the same whether in Konsole or on any tty, as do scripts and other commands.
