Download 5CDs version of suse 9.3

Does any one know exact ftp site for SUSE 9.3 5CDs version for download

azulpind4 06-28-2005 07:04 AM

I don't think its available yet....

skazzit 06-28-2005 08:50 AM

Out of the 50 or so mirrors, there is only a couple of mirrors that offer all 5 cds. One is the UK mirror, third from the top under UK on the Suse website:
http://www.novell.com/products/linux...t_mirrors.html

Mirror with the CDs is here:
ftp://ftp.mirrorservice.org/sites/ft.../i386/9.3/iso/

NOTE: the 5 installation CDs do not have as many newer pacakges as the 2 installation DVDs. For instance the 5 CDs only have java version 1.4.2 whereas the 2 DVDs have java version 1.4.2 and 1.5.0.

Or use the non-mirror at:
ftp://ftp.suse.com/pub/suse/i386/9.3/iso/

Your url either doesn't work, or is flooded with requests. I'm thinking the latter.

It is probably flooded. It took a while for me to actually get into it earlier.

x86-64 5 CDs

I don't think there is a CD set for x86-64. I found it offered on a dual layer dvd iso coupled with the 32 bit install on some bit torrent sites, but that's it. I would email Novell to see if they offer them in a 5 cd set, but I don't think they do.

Why not try to get em via a P2P network like eDonkey or find a torrent. I got my 5CD set using aMule.

It is legal to distribute SuSE so it's perfectly acceptible to use P2P and it'll currently be faster than a hosed FTP mirror.

Try ftp://ftp.oregonstate.edu/pub/suse/suse/i386/9.3/iso

and no, it doesn't even have x86_64 in anything later than 9.2, and DVD only.

Dear "AINor" , i followed the ftp link you mentioned above in your reply.

It opens a page where there is a link of 5 .iso files which are 32 BIt of SuSE linux 9.3 pro.

and THERE IS ANOTHER LINK OF one .iso FILE, THAT IS x86_64 BIt DVD File.

****
Can you tell me , " is it a Evaluation DVD or it contains SuSE x86_64 BIT Linux Version installable on Hard Disk.

I learnt that Novell Releases a Evaluation DVD of suSE Linux for free , every time it releases a newer version of SuSe linux.

So please tell me in detail that on this ftp Mirror , is it a EVALUATION DVD or INSTALLABLE ON HDD , Second can i download it from this mirror or not ?

please , write you reply in a simple English, since i am not very well on English.

Thanks & Regards.

bedi-beparwah, sorry if I was unclear. The link I provided was for the 5 CD set.

At the time I wrote it, there was no 9.3 DVD ISO link.
