Domain combobox doesn't appear on KDE login screen

I am trying to set up a SLES 10 SP2 installation in a VM. We have a "starter" copy of the VM that our developers can download to their machines and then customize for their own use. The starter VM is half-configured, with just the root account active. I took that starter VM and modified entries in the "DNS and Hostname" and "Windows Domain Membership" YaST "control panels" to give my VM a unique hostname and have it authenticate with our domain instead of using local accounts.

When I rebooted the machine after making those changes, I saw only the normal username/password fields on the login screen. I expected to see a combobox that would let me choose between my domain and "Local", but it was not present. On a whim, I attempted to login using a username of the form "DOMAIN\\user", and that successfully logged in and authenticated with the domain.

I checked the file /etc/sysconfig/displaymanager, which seems to be the place to configure the login screen, from what I've been able to tell in my searches. I have the following values (I omitted entries that I didn't think were relevant here):

DISPLAYMANAGER="kdm"
DISPLAYMANAGER_AD_INTEGRATION="yes"

From what I've read, that should be all I need to make the domain combobox appear. Is there something else that I might have missed?
