No

That seems a bit low.

Can you call up the smart gui

smart --gui

Do that and tell me what channels are installed?

Morbid 06-20-2006 03:08 PM

Well..I did it anyhow. ;) Thanks for your help...It seems to have worked. ;)

nlinecomputers 06-20-2006 03:10 PM

No it didn't. There are more packages that need updated and it didn't list them. That's why I was asking about what channels are setup in smart.

Morbid 06-20-2006 06:10 PM

? Who, what where?

Morbid 06-20-2006 06:12 PM

How do I find that out?

Morbid 06-20-2006 08:29 PM

Better yet, what do I need to add?

nlinecomputers 06-20-2006 08:36 PM

Goto the K menu(the green gecko ball) System/Configuration/Smart Package Manager.

Once there hit edit/channels. Report what is there.

Or take a command prompt. su to become root and do this

smart channel --show

I never got a notification of your reply. Sorry bout that!

I would enable the mozilla and kde sources so that you get updates for Firefox and KDE.

smart channel --enable suse-kde
smart channel --enable suse-mozilla

Morbid 06-26-2006 09:43 AM

Done! ;) Thanks, Nine!

nlinecomputers 06-26-2006 09:59 AM

Ok you should do smart update and smart upgrade and see if you are offered more packages.

Morbid 06-26-2006 10:24 AM

Why does Ksmartray still say there are updates available?

Morbid 06-27-2006 01:54 PM

I just updated again and it still says the same dang thing. Aaaarrrrrggggghhhh!!!!! ;)

nlinecomputers 06-27-2006 03:50 PM

I don't use ksmart tray. So I can't help you there. But I suspect that some of your disabled channels have updates but some of those updates are from channels that offer very beta versions (which is why they are disabled).

Morbid 06-29-2006 09:05 PM

Ahha! That would explain it. Thanks Nine for your help.

Hmmm...I just went to update and got this message.
