Do i need snapper without btrfs?

Dear people,
Have chosen to install opensuse 15 on a ext4 filesystem.
So the question is if i safely can disable the btrfs functions like btrfsmaintenance
and snapper without getting too much problems or do they still have a function?

Kindly,

Peter

I'm pretty sure snapper is useless without btrfs in use. None of my openSUSE Leap or TW installations are on btrfs, and *btrfs* and snapper packages are not installed.
