Disastrous upgrade to 11.2 from 11.1

Everything went wrong no sound, no scsi to scanner, printers, and kde only using failsafe. So, did a new install and still probs
  1. kde stops half way through saying it there is no file in /lib/modules/2.6.31-5-0.1-desktop
  2. Fixed prob by creating a copy of 2.6.31-8.0-desktop
  3. kde only starts with x11failsafe
  4. On failsafe boot (from GRUB) load of messages daying can not find disks then mess Doing Fastboot
At least I've got sound though printer still a prob
Any ideas how to fix the kde start up?

config
ASUS M4A78-E, AMD xenon III 550, 4GB mem
SUSE 11.2 standard KDE, network install

Thanks in advance

many people got problems after upgrade.
seems to be "upgrade makes it worse".

Printer prob sorted by reinstalling brother printer drivers

sound driver and x11 issues ??

ok, go to yast -> software -> software management

package manager will be refreshed for some time, after that

in the search tab type "xorg" upgrade that.

Thanks Raju

Unfortunately I had already tried that and they were all upto date
BTW the sound now works after new installation. The only problem that remains is the KDE failing to complete its installation, though using X11failsafe command in GRUB i can get round it
