Diffrence between OSS and reatil ?
hi,
could someone tell me what is the diffrence between SUSE 10.0 OSS and the one that you can buy....? i think i saw somthing about adobe/flash and movie support ? is this what the retail gives you ??? can someone tell me ??? and would the retail help me with my ATI no 3D problems ??? thanks....;) |
The OSS version has open-source software only, so no flash / Adobe / Realplayer / Sun Java / MP3 or WIN32 codecs / DVDdeCSS. I'm using the OSS version but got all of these by following the article at http://www.thejemreport.com/mambo/content/view/178/42/
There will be no difference for ATI support out of the box. Any additional ATI drivers will be available no matter what version you install. |
Note that there's an OSS version which contains only open source software; an eval version which also includes other free, but closed, software; and a retail version, which as far as I know, includes commercial software.
