Dial-in issues for all you system/network Gurus
OK guys/gals here is my situation:
Server running SuSE 9.3, client running Windows XP Pro. I have setup the server to accept incoming calls, this works and the client is authenticated. The server is setup with a LAN IP of 10.99.2.250 and in the appropriate options files <localIP>:<remoteIP> of 10.21.5.6:10.21.5.5. Windows box (which at the end of development will be replaced with a router) is setup for a set IP of 10.21.5.5. The Windows box can dial in and get authenticated. If I do a route print on the win box I see a default gateway of 10.21.5.5 and I see 10.21.5.5 as my IP in ipconfig /all. So I think all looks good. SuSE accepts the incoming call and I see the ppp0 interface in the ifconfig with inet addr:10.21.5.6 and P-t-P:10.21.5.5. When I do a route I see that default gateway is 10.21.5.5. Now the problem is that I can not ping either way Server -> Win or Win -> Server. I can not ssh from win -> Server. UPDATE: Well it appears that I CAN ping the server from the windows box. The connection is pretty bad but I can ping. However I can NOT ping the windows box from the server. So I am thinking that there may be an issue on the server side. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance! |
