desktop icons too small

I was trying out different settings for KDE 4. The setting was for "Desktop Activity Type and I selected "Plain Desktop no Toolbar" When that was applied, suddenly the desktop icons got very small and I tried to set them larger again but that did not work, the settings for Desktop icons from "Configure Desktop" were only applied in the Plasma Dashboard, not the desktop itself.

How do I get these teeny tiny icons to be larger again?

I'm running Open SuSE 11.2 and using KDE 4.3.5 release 0

By default I had "Desktop Activity" -> "Type" -> "Folder View" enabled. and due to this I could see all the file/folder icons on my desktop.

To try out your problem, I selected "Plain Desktop (with no toolbar)" and immediately all my icons on the desktop vanished !!!!

How come the act is different on your comp than mine and yes the Suse version is same for both of us.

I did manage to get them larger again after all. What I had to do was to create new shortcuts to those apps and delete the tiny ones.
I don't know what to do about icons that have disappeared. So, try to create new desktop shortcuts and I was going to say to perhaps see what is in /home/<yourusername>/Desktop and delete the duplicates, but when I checked mine, the icons that are on my actual desktop (not the ones in the "plasma dashboard") were not listed. That is strange. I wonder where they put those?
