Dependencies that I cannot figure out ...

Hello to everyone,

I have installed SLES 11 on a box for some test reasons and I try to install a few packages without any result.

Well some of them return to me with Failed dependencies of the type ::
Code:

kernel(default:kernel_sched) = *********
Where ***** is actually a long number in hex format.

Well apart from finding which package do I need, I also cannot understand what type of dependency is this. Is it related to some source code, or what?

Any ideas/hints/directions would gratefully appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

It sounds like you are installing with the "rpm -i" command, have you tried using zypper?

Hello Knightron,

Thank you for your reply but even with zypper the problem remains. I tried
Code:

zypper install -D RPM
but I received the same type of dependencies
Code:

Problem: nothing provides ksym(default:schedule) = 1000e51 needed by RPM ....
