Default sound card
Hello All,
I'm pretty new to Linux. But I have Suse 9.1 personal. I also have 2 sound cards in my system. One built into the Abit motherboard, and a old Santa Cruz card. The built in Abit card seems to be the default sound card in Linux. When I go into the Yast sound card setup, the volume is up on both cards and when I click the test button on the Santa Cruz card it works. But no other program in Linux will play sound out of the Santa Cruz card. So how do I switch the default sound card in Suse 9.1? I would just use the built in card but I also use Win XP on this system and the built in card slows my FPS in games down. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Wake |

Good question! Probably because I'm not thinking straight! But anyways I found out on my own last night how to change the default sound card in Yast But now that you mention it I don’t know why I haven’t disabled the thing in Bios.
Thanks for the reply, Wake |
No problem. :)
