Couldn't GUI login as any other user than root
 

I am not an expert in Linux.
Installed Suse 10.2 on my machine. Everything went well, except for after 2 or three boots the user logins are not working any more.
I could GUI login only as root. I could login as user in init 3 though.
deleting everything /tmp is not working.

When i try to login , it flickers (NVIDIA my graphics card screen come up) and then goes back to the same login screen.

Been trying to solve this for week, using Suse as root. I am loving it only if i could use it as a user. I tried reinstalling the whole thing again , didn't solve the problem.

Have you installed the Nvidia driver?

Yes I did install nvidia drivers. Can you help me out with this ?

All I know is that Nvidia video drivers are problematic because there is a right and a wrong way to install them. You need am Nvidia-friendly person now. I never could get mine right & pulled the card, which is definitely the wrong thing to do. later I'll try again
