copying from pc to usb-connected mp3-player takes ages; suse 10.0
 

when i copy music from the pc to my usb-2.0-connected mp3-player "dnt sporty5" the transfer takes ages. is there any possibility for me to optimise the speed? am i doing something wrong, maybe?

this screenshot shows several windows, but having just one window/one "copying task" will not accelerate the transfer speed significantly:

There is a problem with sync transfer to some USB devices in SUSE 10.0. Try to mount the device manually and see if you can speed-up transfer. e.g. mount -t vfat /dev/sda1 /media/usbdisk -o users,rw,umask=000
