Constant HD access

Suse 9.1 constantly accesses my HD when I start Gnome or KDE. I can't seem to fingd the culprit, no processes seem to be hogging system. Any Ideas??

Could you describe your system? I am thinking not enough RAM.

I notice that on my laptop, too. I reinstalled Suse, the problem disapeared for a while, but it came back. I thought I was crazy, I realized now am I not.

Describe the chip speed, RAM, HD space, and the like and maybe we can help.

You were right, increased swapfile size, and no more problem. Thanks
