Compiz Fusion and xgl

Do you need xgl enabled to make Compiz-Fusion work in Suse 10.3 with an ATI Radeon X1950 Pro PCIe video card? If not, how?

no, u dont need XGL, what i did was go to software management and install all the compiz packages, but not the XGL ones. then run :

Code:
compiz-manager
this will put a tray icon for easy configuration. and can be scripted to start automatically

you should make sure that in SaX2, 3D acceleration is on, otherwise, it wont work
