Clickable Shortcuts (On Desktop) to Apps

This is going to sound like a really stupid question. And once again, please explain in n00b language. Oh and I use SUSE 9.2 (Pro).

I want to make a clickable shortcut icon on the desktop to an app. That's the one thing I just can't figure out. Any help?

just right click on your mouse then seleck new ??? application link (I forget) then seleck the url addres on your apps (view it on the "my computer" or find the apps name that u want with "find files") then copy and paste it to the link anddress then here u are.....

hope that right....
right now I'm not at my SUSE but on my damn windows XP.....becoz there is something I have to do with this windows XP....

dont worry I'll go back later to tell u the right way to make a shortcut.....

Right click on the desktop--->Create New--->File--->Link to Application

From there, just add the information.
