Clean install.. boot problem.

Guys,
This is driving me nuts... I'm trying a clean install of Suse/KDE. My HD is clean.. I'm trying to boot with my Boot CD 1. It wont' boot at all. The box just skips the CDROM saying boot record is not found.. then it looks for it in the floppy and says IDE-0 is ok (??!!).
GRUB stage 1.5
Error 15.

Is this problem fixable at all? I tried using the FTP install CD of Suse 9.2... Same problem...

Are you sure you burned the CD correctly? I don't mean to be patronizing, but did you burn the ISO as an ISO image or did you put the ISO on as a data file? It's also possible you have a coaster. Can you read the disc on any other machine? Can you try to boot another computer with that disc?

well, I have installed Suse 10.0 multiple times with this CD. As late as yesterday!

Hmm.. interesting development.... I wiped the CD on my sweater waved it in the air to cool the CD down and guess what? I'm installing right now! I have tried this multiple times since yesterday and it never worked!

Although I think Windows is over priced and too vulnerable.. Atleast it is a bit more predictable... My Suse got screwed up when I installed a security patch.. I guess if it works now, I'll be okay.

Thanks!
