Changing login screen in openSuSE 11.1

I recently upgraded from 11.0 to 11.1, and noticed that the login screen is different from what I was using in 11.0 where I had to manually type my username and then my password. In 11.1, I am presented with a screen that displays my username, which I must click on, and then enter my password. My question is, how do I enable the login screen to prompt for me to enter my username and then my password as this was in 11.0? Thank you.

I should add that I am using Gnome and not KDE for all of my sessions. Basically, I want to hide the user list from appearing each time I need to log into the computer, but I am unable to find any related settings for Gnome in 11.1.

I've got the same issue.

It seems to be configed in /etc/gdm/, though the SuSE version is a wee bit non-standard. I'll play about and report my findings (unless someone already has?)

Cheers,
Dave

I am having the same issue... has anyone found a solution? or what to edit in the /etc/gdm/gdm_sysconfig.conf file?

Thanks

This is how you do it..

While logged in as root...

vi /etc/gconf/schemas/gdm-simple-greeter.schemas

Look for the following key and a few lines down change the FALSE to
TRUE .

<key>/schemas/apps/gdm/simple-greeter/disable_user_list</key>

gconftool-rebuild

That should do it!
