Can't boot into Gnome, KDE, OR FVWM as user!

I can boot into anything I want as root, (as I'm doing now >>) but not as user. On KDE it just hangs, on Gnome FVWM or WindowMaker it just crashes back to the login screen (or text, if I did startx on the command line).

I can't find any error messages. Any ideas, anyone?

What (if anything) is listed in the .xsession-errors file?
