cannot unmount flash drive Suse 10 Gnome

I recently installed SuSE v10 with the Gnome 2.12. desktop and overall I like it very much.

One small problem is when I plug in my Sandisk Cruzer, it shows up properly on the desktop. The problem comes when I try to unmount the drive using the right mouse button and selecting the "Unmount" option. I get an error message saying that I am not logged in as root and I can not unmount the device.

How can I get this device to be mounted under my user account and not as root? I don't see any config options under YAST (non that I can find).

Thanks...

Bob

I think /etc/fstab is the file to edit.

I don't see anything to edit in fstab. Has anyone else had this problem?

Flash drive mounts fine, but when I try to unmount the drive I get an error message saying I do not have root permission. How can I get SuSE to mount the drive with user permissions?

Thanks...

Bob

Yep, suse 9.2 here,
I have the same problem, i could not find a way to unmount so I generally log out then remove it..
That may not be the correct way but so far it worked..I'll be interested to find out how to do it correctly..

post your fstab file, you have to give "users" access to disconnecting it.

Try adding this line

dev/sdb1 /media/usbdisk subfs users,rw,nosuid,nodev,sync,fs=floppyfss,procuid,utf8=true 0 0

Or modifing a current dev/sdb1 /media/usbdisk entry if you have one.
