You're entering the wrong password....it's been changed. Either check your caps-lock key, or boot the box into single-user mode, and change the password from there, then reboot normally.
thanks TBone i will try give it a try, but are there any other possibilities beside that?, because i try to login this morning, i login as a regular account use KDE then i open the terminal then i typed su and the password on the shell, it works!!, but why when i tried to login as a root on KDE the screen become blank and come back to login page...
Well, I don't use KDE, but the documentation implies that not all distros allow KDE to be used as root. That is, at least out of the box. I'm guessing there's an option in the KDE configuration utility where you can bypass that restriction, assuming you wish to ignore all the warnings about how running a desktop environment as root is one of the worst things you can do to a GNU/Linux box.
whaa...how is that possibly happen ?? and what about my share file which only had root as a user.....
I agree with win32sux....apparently, someone has disabled root login via GUI, since your password works from an su. That's easily done, both for KDE and Gnome.
And it IS a horrible idea to log in as root via GUI.
