cannot download opensuse 10.3 dvd

when i try to download the dvd from this place: http://software.opensuse.org/ the download always stops at 105.7mb, in every single of seven attempts. using the torrent-option with ktorrent 2.2.1 i get the message that the size is wrong, something about an "illegal arguement". but i have lots of space on my external hdd and i even deleted a lot of stuff in /home/ungua so that i have more than 6gb available there now. what might be the problem??

thank you & best regards
ungua

If the file size is bigger than 4GiB, then your file-system may not support this.

thank you very much for the tip! i haven't tried ktorrent on my reiserfs /home/ungua, but this works now - the problem was my external hdd file system.

Yep - reiserfs support very big files. I've had no problem with ext3 myself, but I think my distro does the required tweaks by default.

i have access to my external harddisc from both a tiny windows-partition that i need to run some crucial programs and from suse. therefore this hdd is "vfat" (i assume that's for "very fat", moha). but, still, i don't get why a common download to my reiserfs /home/ungua should stop at precisely 105.7 of >4200 mb - i tried it with both konqueror, firefox and opera. now i hope that i'll have a chance to try out opensuse 10.3 during christmas sometime...

best regards

So it didn't work?

FAT32 has a max 4GiB file size.
ext3 has 16GiB to 2TiB ... depending on block size.
reiserfs 3.5 in 4GiB ... interesting, though 3.6 is 8TiB (on 32 bit systems).

As for the timing... that could just be how long it takes for the system to realize that the fs won't handle the file. Or, maybe, the reiserFS driver needs that many bytes to do the projection?

vfat and FAT32:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_Allocation_Table
"Virtual FAT" named for the "VxD" device driver.
