Can't find gnome but have libraries installed
Hey all,
I just installed suse the other day and when it installed the log said it did install gnome but now when I log in, I click on the Menu button but there aren't any other choices just "log-out' or 'restart x server'. WHen I log in, it starts KDE by default. I went in and looked at installed software and I see all the gnome libs and bins are installed but I can't find gnome itself. Does anyone know how to get gnome to show up? I'm not very big on KDE but I must admit, under Suse I like KDE pretty well but Gnome has always been my prefered desktop environment or Window Maker. Thanks everyone:) |
um... this is kindof a longshot, but try switching to runlevel 3 and booting to textmode and once you are logged in try the command 'gdm' and see if that does anything
