can't connect to internet

I am using OpenSuse 10.2 and I configured my internet connection as in anohter computer with version 9.2. I use KInternet to connect to the internet it successfully connects retrieves DNS and all info but when I go to firefox it doesn't connect.

Internet seems to be up and running but it just doesn't connect.

I suspect it is something to do with firewall but I disable that and still nothing. Does anyone know what is wrong?

Lightbulb Uninstall-Reinstall Firefox Might Work

The last time I had this happen to me I could get Konqueror to work on the internet just fine and Samba was working just fine on the local network but Firefox did not work.

First I just reinstalled Firefox, but this did not seem to help. Next, I un-installed all Firefox files from YaST. Doing so caused all kinds of dependency problems with other applications, but I just told YaST to ignore everyone one. I restarted my KDE session, went back to YaST and reinstalled Firefox. After this exercise, Firefox worked just fine again. It might be worth a try.

Thank You,

I just fixed the problem. It had to do with the firewall. I went to YAST, then firewall, then interfaces and set modem to external zone. After that internet worked.
