To get K3B "recognize" mp3 files as audio (and not just data files) you'll need an mp3 plugin for it. Most distributions don't have it preinstalled for the same reason why most distributions don't have audio players' mp3 plugins installed, but it's available if you want it. Last time I installed it on Fedora and another time on Ubuntu, it was just a matter of searching the .rpm or .deb from the web and installing it; not sure about SuSE though. I remember there is already at least one thread about this thing (having K3B burn mp3 files/decode/recode them), so you might want to search for it here at LQ too. If SuSE is as easy as Fedora/Ubuntu, you should just find the mp3 plugin SuSE specific rpm from the web and install it.
