Boot from USB stick if no booting USB in Bios

I was just wondering if one could make an absolute minimal bootable CD which would just load a USB driver and then could boot up the rest of the OS from a Pen drive / usb stick on machines where you can't directly boot from a USB port.

Anybody tried this --I think you'd just need a minimal boot loader to load the USB driver and then you could read a "Pseudo" boot record from the USB which would then load and boot the rest of the OS.

Anybody tried this yet.

I don't know enough about low level / bios programming to try this but if anyone has I'd love to try it.

Cheers

-K
