boot dvd iso image not working

i downloaded the openSUSE 10.2 iso image to a dvd and restarted my computer and everytime it won't book from the dvd, i've tried using f12 (boot menu) to manually do it and i just get
strike F1 to retry boot, F2 for setup utility
is there a step i'm missing somewhere?

Check the DVD if you have only one file then you burned the DVD incorrectly.

If you have multiple files then how exactly (what application, what options etc.) did you 'burn' this DVD??? Most Windows based burning applications have an option to 'burn' ISO images, review your help section for the application for the how to burn ISO images.
