The modified date on the file is Jan 25 2005. I just compiled and am rebooting now. Not sure how I'll know if it's working, though.....dunno if it will require setup.
No dice on that one, but given that it's an X11 utility and I don't think I have the remote setup in my X11 config file, all hope is not lost. ;-) I can research it later, right now I have some pressing work issues to sort out while my mind is on that track.
Let me know if you find anything, I'll do same. FYI, to get this source I pulled in the latest LIRC CVS, I don't think it's in their latest official release.
I can now get irrecord to see the remote and write a config file. But, each time it generates a new gap value and mythtv still acts like it doesn't see it. irw also still prints nothing. I'm writing the lirc mailing list now.
Update 2: irw now sees the remote when I push buttons after loading a fresh config, and I recompiled mythtv to support lirc and it even works now! However, everytime I reboot the config file breaks and I have to generate a new one. I think one of the guys on the lirc list knows what the problem is and has pointed Paul, the author, in the direction to solve it. I will update when it's fully functional.
Sounds good. I think I messed up my installation of Lirc, I'll have to try it again later in the week. Seems like it will all be fairly seamless soon though once that update comes.
My Remote Wonder II now fully works with lirc and mythtv. Please feel free to post here, PM me, or email me and I would be happy to help you through setting it up.
I just bought a Remote Wonder 2 to use with my mythtv frontend.
I saw your post and was wonderig if you could post some instructions on how you got it working.
Excellent idea, I had been wanting to put something together to "give back" to the community since the lirc list was so helpful in solving this and it seems many people have questions about setting up lirc and/or the RWII. That seems like the perfect place to do it.
