the fglrx files are architecture dependent. So you can't use the i386 Files
for x86_64 Architectures. If they would be with noarch extension
then don't care. Howver the fglrx files are architecture dependent.

The directories you are pointing to are the ones containing the
standard SuSE 9.1 packages for x86_64.

The ATI drivers however are considered by SuSE as supplement packages

Thank you very much for your answers. I'll try to find SUSE's ATI drivers, if not, than I'll try with the ATI's original ones more.

If anyone has some additional information, suggestion or help, I'm listening.

In my XF86Config-4 file I get in the Device section this expression

Section "Device"
Identifier "ATI Graphics Adapter"
Driver "fglrx"

I have ATI AIW 9800 Pro. Should I get here something else. Could someone comment what could be wrong in this configuration file that I after reboot get just black screen?
