Apt for SusE - Where Do I Begin?

I've determined that the type of package management system I'm seeking is something that SuSE doesn't have out of the box, and is something that can't be easily found via Google.

Could any kind soul please explain to me what kind of package management resources SuSE 10 has? What would I need to do to get a level of installable software like I get on Gentoo or Debian? If that's not possible, then what?

Thanks for your time and help, I really appreciate it!
