Applets in Gnome

When I was using Suse 9.1 and 9.2, I was using KDE and I really liked the binary clock. However, after seeing what Gnome looked like, I decided to go with Gnome when I upgraded to Suse 9.3. However, I don't know how to get the binary clock. I looked into jbc but I'm not really that comfortable installing with .tar.gz. However, I saw a Gnome user guide (here:http://www.linuxselfhelp.com/gnome/u...#JBCAPPLET-FIG and it did mention jbc but didn't mention how to install it and none of the documentation that came with Suse mentioned it.

Also, I downloaded some applets that should have worked with Gnome but after installing them, I didn't know how to run them.

Are you referring to gDesklets ?

No, just plain regular applets that you can run in Gnome. And as I said, I'm not very comfortable installing with tar.gz files.

Okay, I've decided to use gDesklets. I first tried to use the one on packman but I have to downgrade libgtop and it still won't run. When I execute gdesklets in the terminal it replys with this:

ImportError: cannot import name gconf

The same thing happens when I'm root and I already installed gDesklets and gDesklets-base.

I've also found that the regular version is not an option. After finding the RPMs on rpmfind.net, I found many dependencies that I didn't have and it eventually led me to openssl-0.9.7f-7 which had many dependencies and conflicts that I could not cover since it interfered with some of the applications I was already running on Suse.
