Talking AppArmour Is it good?

Just got Suse 10 recently and tried out apparmour, I switched it on but to honest Im not exactly sure what its doing, I have a very vague idea that it ristricts certain programs doing only the things that you define them to do, I had to turn it off though, when I was running opera it wouldnt let me download anything to the desktop and the fonts in opera looked weird too, any ideas about how to get it working better, oh and what it does?

Thanks
