apache wwwrun php and ftp

I am running a linux server with suse enterprise server 9.
We configured apache with php.
Through a php application a file is written by apache in a specific directory.
This file I want to send (using /usr/bin/ftp ) to an external adress.

The file is owned by the user wwwrun, group www.

After the ftp the file is being renamed to another directory.

All seems to go wel, but nothing is send by ftp.

If I perform the action with my own user it works like a charm.

Is there some obscure apache instruction that prevents the use of /usr/bin/ftp???

Problem solved.

The problem was not in apache, php or ftp, it was a file-naming issue.
FTP actually took place.

Sorry for any inconveniences.
