Apache and PHP4 on SUSE 10.0 problem

Hello
I've been using SUSE 10.0 with its "off-the-CD" Apache2 and PHP4. Recently I tried using the Yast tool to "enable" the PHP5 module, and it said it would need to install PHP5. (Well, it didn't do so - it seems those RPMS are not in the distro....)
But now, when I tell it to enable PHP4 (the whole point was to use Yast's HTTP config tool to swap between them) I find it no longer parses .php pages - I get the option of opening them in a text app or saving them (and yes, the source code is coming through!)

Doing some checking, the /etc/apache2/conf.d/php4.conf file is being loaded and parsed when apache2 is restarted. All the other settings in /etc/apache2 seem as they should be - but the PHP4 module is not being used!

Anyone have suggestions?

edit the "httpd.conf" file. There should be a part in that file named: Dynamic Shared Objects (DSO).

There add: LoadModule modulename moduledir

That should make apache parse your php code.
