AnY answer to " cpio: Bad magic " Problem Yet.

Has anyOne found an answer to this " cpio: Bad magic " Problem Yet with Suse 11 Beta3 yet . I have searched the Suse Forums on the Web & there seems to be alot of people with this problem but I couldnt find any proper Solutions or any at all.
Its imposible almost to use Yast or of Installers for Installing Pkgs from the web .
This is the error I keep getting, & I have tried a couple of things to no avail.

Subprocess failed. Error: RPM failed: error: failed to stat /home/hutchinson/.gvfs: Permission denied
error: unpacking of archive failed: cpio: Bad magic

2008-04-17 14:49:44 epiphany-lang-2.22.0-2.i586.rpm installed ok
Additional rpm output:
error: failed to stat /home/hutchinson/.gvfs: Permission denied

2008-04-19 04:46:06 FooBillard-3.0a-173.i586.rpm install failed
rpm output:
error: failed to stat /home/hutchinson/.gvfs: Permission denied
error: unpacking of archive failed: cpio: Bad magic

Thanks anyOne

I have had this error with some recent openoffice rpm's - it means that the rpm is faulty I think.

Thanks For reply. I find its happening with every repo I add or try ,even after disabaling others etc. I am still searching. I have tried the 10.3 ones from main Suse Repository site as well.
AnyWay I may need try again after rebooting etc.

Sorry , it turns out you were on the money after a reboot anyway. & before I was also getting a curl problem not working for the 10.3 repos I tried.
AnyWay I hope Suse gets this fixed up.

Actually, I take that Back , after doing another check it seems as though over 3 Quarters or more of the repositories I am using which come from the Cummunity repositories selected from the Yast Tool for adding repos & the 3rd Party Repos I selected from there Suse web site wont work because of this Bad Magic problem, infact I have only gotten 2 repos so far to work on last count.
This is Paphetic. I keep coming Back to trying Suse every now & then thinking it surely must get better but it never does. I liked using Suse in the earlier Days but it only seems to get worse like Fedora.
I might wait for the actual Release of Suse 11 & see if this problem is fixed.

you can't just download a beta OS and start complaining about bugs you find, it's just not fair

Yes he can. If he's not adding any tickets to their bug tracker it is useless though. IMNSHO.

My choice of words was bad indeed. Of course he can but it is useless indeed and doesn't make any sense at all and he's only taking other people's time by posting it somewhere.

No, I don't think your choice of words was bad, I only thought it was a bit too mild :-]
