Active Directory authentication was working, but not anymore

I used YAST to join my OpenSuSE 10.2 server to our Active Directory domain. Everything worked great. I could log on using my domain credentials in the form of "DOMAIN\user". I could issue "getent passwd" or "getent group" and see domain users and groups in addition to local ones. Then, when I rebooted the server the AD authentication stopped working. I can no longer log in with domain credentials and both of the getent commands mentioned above now only show local users and groups. According to the systems services details in YAST, Samba and Winbind are running. I have rebooted a few more times and recycled the services, but no joy. Thanks for any help.
