9.3 -Wireless now working Linksys WPC54g

I bit the bullet and paid 19 USD for the Linuxant driver -- couldn't get NDISWRAPPER to work --although I was about 99% there so I just said --enough is enough and got the driver.

You can get a FREE trial as well but it certainly works on the Linksys WPC54G card.

The Linuxant driver installed --really easy to configure it --then just edit your ifcfg-wlan0 file to add bits like ESSID etc. (Can also do it in YAST -- but as a tip if you do it in YAST have the card REMOVED or it will screw up with some of it's own hardware detection.

I'm currently not using encryption (1 thing at a time) and still have to set the ISP's DSN server names in the setup for WLAN0 even though i'm using DHCP --could be my router --but no biggie currently. Once the card is working all these are trivial matters.

Here's the basic configuration

NAME='Linksys WPC54G'
STARTMODE='auto'
WIRELESS_AUTH_MODE='open'
WIRELESS_ESSID='jimbo'
WIRELESS_MODE='Managed'
DHCLIENT_MODIFY_RESOLV_CONF='yes'
DHCLIENT_SET_DEFAULT_ROUTE='yes'
HWD_DRIVER='hostap_driverloader'
BOOTPROTO='dhcp'
MTU=''
REMOTE_IPADDR=''
USERCONTROL='no'
WIRELESS_AP=''
WIRELESS_BITRATE='auto'
WIRELESS_CHANNEL=''
WIRELESS_DEFAULT_KEY='0'
WIRELESS_FREQUENCY=''
WIRELESS_KEY=''
WIRELESS_KEY_0=''
WIRELESS_KEY_1=''
WIRELESS_KEY_2=''
WIRELESS_KEY_3=''
WIRELESS_KEY_LENGTH='128'
WIRELESS_NICK=''
WIRELESS_NWID=''
WIRELESS_POWER='yes'
WIRELESS_WPA_PSK=''

Congrats... I'm still working on my wireless

I'm pretty impressed with everything but wireless so far though.
