9.1 Personal & FX 5500

I just installed SuSE 9.1 Personal on a new computer I built becasue I am LOVING it on my laptop, anyway... I used YOU to get the new nVidia drivers but they still don't show up when I try and change the graphics card. So... I end up having to use the VESA frame buffer... which doesn't have the greatest performance when it comes to games, and I hope to be getting Doom3 soon and I want to make sure its going to work. I checked with nVidia and the latest drivers support FX 5500 cards and I douple check that YOU installed the patch. I really don't want to recompile the kernal (don't have the source for one) so I was hoping there was a way to fix this without too much command line.

If you havent downloaded the drivers from NVIDIA's website yet and manually installed them, your in need of more help than you'll ever get.
