4.1 speaker system. Sound only on two speakers

Hi.

I'm running SUSE 10 retail on a system powered by a 4.1 Altec Lansing speaker system. The sound card is a Creative SoundBlaster Live! 24-bit. When playing music using Amarok the sound only comes out of two of the speakers. I've tried messing with some settings in Kmix to no avail.
Any hints or suggestions to get all 4 speakers to fire? (The 4 speakers are connected to the subwoofer. All connections are fine as the speakers work correctly in Windblows.)
Thanks.

Richard

Hey

Have you tried running (as root):
alsaconf

Once that's done:
alsamixer

To save ur settings:
alsactl store

Dont get your hopes up. I had this card and i couldnt get 5:1 running on my box so I changed my sound card. If u have any luck then let me know as my SB Live24b card is currently collecting dust ....

Ipsofacto: thanks but I've already tried that. I guess I'll have to leave it as it is as I just bought this sound card and I'm not about to buy another one.
What bugs me most about this issue is that the Linux communty, developers et al would love to have us believe that Linux will give microsloth a run for its money. And I sincerely hope it does. But if a distro can't even support basic sound functionality then I don't know what to say. I'm not about to give up on Linux. But if it causes me to have to boot into Windblows just to hear music coming out of 4 basic speakers
then I'll continue using Linux, with a big grain of salt.
