32 or 64 bit install?????


hi,

How do i know which version to download the 32 or 64 bit?

i'm putting it on a laptop with a 2.4 intel on 256ram only brought it last year

any help appreciated

The 64 bit version is for 64 bit processors only. I don't think your Intel processor will be 64 bit, so you'll need the 32 bit version. If you're downloading the SUSE 9.2 DVD image to burn yourself, it comes with both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions, and which one you need is chosen automatically during setup (note that 64 bit processors can use the 32 bit version, but the 64 bit version will run faster, so is the preferred choice).
