11.2 - stopping hplip service status in booting

Hi,

Recently, I installed HP multifunction inkjet printer.

Since then, I'm always noticing the blue HP HPLIP service
status icon in the system tray. It appears that I can only
hide or quit it once it has started.

Is there a way not even have it started from the system booting?

Thanks.

If it is really a service (it's in some place like /etc/init.d/ on debian), you should look for your distro's manuals about that. But you can probably just change your session settings and stop running it on your session. Run gnome-session-properties and uncheck the program on the "Startup Programs" tab.
