10.0 RC1 logout out from KDE needs CTRL-Z to exit
It's more of an irritant than a real problem but I've noticed on a number of computers using 10.0 RC1 when you logout from KDE and drop back into console mode you get the following messages
Waiting for X-Server to shut down KDE Init: Fatal IO error : Client killed
kded: Fatal IO error : client killed
klauncher: Exiting on signal 15
Press CTRL-Z
you then get [1] Stopped /usr/X11R86/bin/startx ${1+"$Q"} 2>&1 |tee $HOME/ .X.err
and the normal console prompt --you can then carry on working or enter X again with another START X command.
The system doesn't appear to be broken --- after CTRL-Z you can logon with another user etc etc.
This problem happens whether it's root or a normal user.
( I noticed this type of behaviour in 10.0 Beta 4 as well)
I always use run level 3 -- I prefer to start up in console mode as I don't always want to login to a GUI --especially if the machine is being primarily used as a Server.
I know RC1 is a beta type release --but anybody else noticed this --and even better --got a fix.
Cheers
