VLC Annoying Behavior in OpenSuSE
O.k so I thought I could live with it but I just cant. The thing is that when playing a movie with VLC the screen saver starts after 10 min, even if I have choose VLC to disable screen saver when videos are playing.
Easy fix you will say disable screen saver ahead of time if you are planning on watch a movie. The thing is I wouldn't have to if VLC were working correctly. I would switch to SMplayer but there is no support for ISO files, and Xine only plays DVDs, Totem has a really bad resolution. So I am just frustrated with Video playing in OpenSuSE. Please understand I posted this entry that way out of my frustration other than that I love OpenSuSE. And Thank you for sharing your thoughts and suggestion regarding this case. |
I just tried smplayer with a dvd.iso and it played just fine.
I simply right clicked the iso and chose smplayer from my menu, smplayer fired up playing the movie with no problems. How are you trying to open the iso file? |
KDE we assume?
Anyway seems to be known. http://forums.opensuse.org/english/g...l-comes-2.html http://forums.opensuse.org/english/g...reensaver.html |
I usually run the application then select to open the file by navigating to the directory where it is storaged.
I am running OpenSuSE 64 BIT with Gnome Shell. I even tried to install VLC from source but appears I am missing a bunch of developer libraries scripts so my ./configure, make, make install doesnt work. Thank you for the thoughts. |
