upgrading kde 3.2 with latest kde for SLES9

Greetings:

Im using SLES9 with KDE 3.2

1.How to upgrade with the latest kde.Can anyone provide me steps.
2.Ive read other forums some says its not good to upgrade coz it will only complicate it. Can anyone tell me the truth?
3.Can anyone suggest me, do I need to stick to my kde3.2?
4.If ever I will upgrade my kde, what are the benefits?

thanks:Pengy:

Well I can't give you details on how to upgrade KDE but can I ask _why_ you want to upgrade ? is there a compelling reason you need to upgrade ? a mandatory bug fix perhaps ???

Personally, I prefer not to run a GUI environment on a server (SLES is a server distribution), never really needed it. Yast runs perfectly in a shell via SSH using the ncurses interface.

I administer a ton of SLES servers and rarely need/use X, when I do use X the default install of KDE is more than sufficient (when I'm done in X I usually drop to init3 to save the CPU cycles/ram to do real work)
