Exclamation SuSE 9.3 Pro will not detect Hard Drive?

I am currently trying to set up a dual boot environment with SuSE 9.3 (until 10.0 RC1) and Windows XP (can't quite get rid of M$ yet...)

I have successfully been able to load the installer using the downloadable network install iso burned to a CDRW, and having the extracted ISOs on an external usb hard drive (no problems here)

But once YaST starts up, it cannot detect my main hard drive... the really weird thing is that I have booted the SuSE 9.3 Live DVD and it boots fine, and I can even format the Hard Drive... (I couldn't seem to access it though, but at the time I didn't think much of it...)

I've even tried formatting the entire drive as ext3, figuring maybe SuSE doesn't like NTFS partitions... I've also gone into my BIOS and changed as much as the Hard Drive settings as possible from 'Auto' to the proper respective value... figuring maybe it wasn't reading properly...

but now I am at a total loss... I have really been looking forward to getting SuSE 9.3 up and running...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks in advance,
voxel

I had the same problem on my laptop when I tried out suse 9.3.
I had to issue the following for boot parameters:

Code:
insmod=ide-generic
hope this helps.

I wonder why there was so much difficulty detecting my laptop HD...

Thanks for the help!
Now I'll be locked up in my room for a while messing around in my new SuSE install
