Suse 9.2 Won't Detect Win XP Pro SP2...

Hello,
I have the CD version of Suse 9.2 and I have experience in installing Suse however... I have tried to install 9.2 on my notebook computer which is an HP Pavilion notebook preinstalled with XP Pro SP2. When it gives me the default installation config it states that it will delete the whole HD. I don't want that however. I have gone into the advanced config as well but it will not let me create a new partition. My guess is because it is SP2. But I have no option to uninstall it. I have also tried Partition Magic 8 but it still will not let me work with the HD. I know I can do it via floppy but again my notebook does not have that option. Please help!

I run my 9.2 on an WinXP SP2 box and did not find the install to be an issue. There might be something else going on here. You said that you used PM8 on that same HD. Will it allow you to make partitions and the like? If it will then SuSE should allow you to use them since even if it is not able to change a partition scheme due to conflicts, it will generally still allow you to format and install to existing partitions.

Got It!

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. I actually got it to work. :) All I did was run the checkdisk utility :D and it found some 'extra free space' or something and this cleared it all up. Thanks for your help though!
