Question Not installing grub with distro builder

I found the distro builder on the suse site. I think its awesome, but I have a problem. I started with the minimal x base. It starts me off with grub as the bootloader, but my computer and grub's defaults don't work. I told it to add lilo but grub is still there as well as lilo. It says that grub is required by other packages and will be installed. When I install will I have grub or lilo as the bootloader? Is there a way to set it to lilo?

Why won't grub work, are there errors? As far as I know you should be able to install lilo to boot a Suse distro. I have not paid attention lately but I think suse used to give you an option on the installation to choose lilo. I may have to back up on that, If you use an ext4 file system I am not sure if lilo will read.

I personally use grub2 on everyone of the distros I boot.

I think I read the newer OpenSuse needs grub and won't boot with lilo if you have the 11.x series. Not sure I'd move to grub2 either on that distro.

I do agree that you should ask for help in trying to discover the reasons the stock setup fails.

With the defaults, grub gives me the error "unable to mount root fs on unknown bock 0,0"
