Remember to unplug the network cable!!! Wireless will not work for some reason when I tried to start the wireless interface

can we connect the internet using knoppix cd as linux in HP pavilion dv2130us notebook, i tried i couldnt configure even anetwork card, mine is 3945aba
can anyone guide me

BackTrack + intel PRO/Wireless 3945ag

Read the subject to see what I have.
I got BackTrack which was created for wireless purposes and I have no internet which ruins it. Help please!

Thanks guys!

After many hours of swearing at the network manager, I decided to go browsing through the web, and I eventually found this post. I'm now happy to announce that I'm posting this from my laptop, which is connected wirelessly! Thanks.

Resolv the problem for Toshiba Satellite A-105

My solution:

Toshiba Satellite A-105
Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection
Ubuntu Edgy 6.10

load module:
#modprobe ipw3954
by default in the install cd

default install don't have the ipw3945d (daemon)
the daemon startup the interface
install it from:

http://bughost.org/ipw3945/daemon/ipw3945d-1.7.22.tgz

start it:
#ipw3945d

test:
#iwconfig

lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

sit0 no wireless extensions.

eth1 unassociated ESSIDff/any
Mode:Managed Frequency=nan kHz Access Point: Not-Associated
Bit Rate:0 kb/s Tx-Power:16 dBm
Retry limit:15 RTS thrff Fragment thrff
Encryption keyff
Power Managementff
Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
