Creating custom initrd image in suse 9.1

Hi

I have just installed suse 9.1 on usb drive. I now want to boot it. But it is only possible by creating custom initrd image. In SUSE Linux mkinitrd is quite different from red hat where I can use --preload=..... stuff to create image. How do I go about adding usb-storage, ehci-hcd and sc_mod and scsi_mod so that they initialized first ? What are exact files I need to modify and also what is exact procedure.

Thanks

I haven't studied it throughly yet, but have noticed that SuSE has a script that uses mkinird called /sbin/mk_initrd. The beginning of the file contains some comments on usage. I would start there. (you could always try "man mkinitrd" and use the command directly of course.)

/etc/sysconfig/kernel has a line "INITRD_MODULES=". Mine only lists the reiserfs module. I suppose this is where you need to add stuff (though I think both mkinitrd and mk_initrd have command line arguements for this as well.)

9.1 on a USB disk. Coo o o ool.
