After some research, it may be that the kernel is not compatible with the driver. I am looking into other options.

the current opwnsuse13.1 desktop kernel IS 100% compatible with the current nvidia.run

the current 337
ftp://download.nvidia.com/XFree86/Linux-x86_64/337.25/
i am using it .


installing the suse rpm for nvidia is VERY EASY

use the "repo way" and install using yast
very simple and very easy

The driver issue was resolved by checking the log files and installing the kmp desktop.
nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-desktop
Now have 3d. Not sure why it installed that way.

Hi,

/var/log/Xorg.0.log may provide you with valuable information on what went wrong when starting X and what drivers it was trying to use. Also you may want to run glxinfo and see what that has to say about your graphics driver currently in use.
